Empowering Individuals and Organizations to Transform Their Experience into Impact!

(Site is Under Construction)

Stop Playing Church & Start Being the Church

We are in crisis. Homelessness, the opioid epidemic, poverty—they continue to touch every corner of our communities while the world seems to be standing idly by.

But while the world is in crisis, God has given us the solution: His people.

The Evergreen Project works to equip and prepare churches and their members to make a real difference in their communities with our tried and tested Evangelism Training Framework.

Through trauma-informed, culturally competent training, we empower Christians and faith-based organizations to become agents of transformation. We help them generate tangible impact by providing the necessary resources, knowledge, and understanding so they can become part of the solution.

Why Evergreen?

Why Evergreen?

The Evergreen tree is a symbol of strength and resilience, standing tall through every season, bearing fruit even in the depths of winter.

“It is God's will for His children to stand like the Evergreen, rooted in their faith and their commitment to justice, equity, and compassion for all.

Faith Without Works is Dead

Each time you pass an unhoused person on the street, each time you hear of another person succumbing to addiction, each time you hear tales of domestic violence, each time you witness poverty maintaining its grip tight on our communities--you feel moved to take action.

That is God is calling you to do more.

When we put our faith into practice, it will lead to real transformation and not just words or token gestures.

“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

James 2:26

The Heart Behind Evergreen Project

Pastor Irene Lewis-Wimbley knows firsthand it's not easy to lead someone to a place you have never been. And she walks the talk!

Through her personal work healing her own traumas, Pastor Irene came to understand how these events affected her Mind, Mouth, Mood, and Attitude. This work served as a catalyst, compelling her to guide others in finding the healing and freedom she has found.

As she moved to scale the ministry, she found that most people who wanted to help others needed the same training, so she began to add awareness and capacity development modules. Since then, she has been on a mission to ignite passion in the Church to provide ministry and intervention through an outpouring of grace and mercy.

Pastor Irene currently teaches the Evergreen Framework at Southside Community Center where she mobilizes members to effectively engage with their communities and create impact.
